My family practitioner, Dr. Robert Birnbaum, in practice for more than 40 years, celebrated his pending retirement with many friends, family & patients. Marilyn, his main support for around 30 of those years, shares a moment during the roast.
Dr. Bob was a proponent of third world aid before the concept of doctors without borders. He invested his own time over the course of several years setting up free HIV clinics and other medical aid in countries without adequate medical help of their own.
