About

My early years (long ago) were Black & White, spending time in the darkroom, learning the basics of shooting, developing & printing with a little help from my friends.

Went digital about around 2005 with a D70. Went out shooting & experimenting. Joined a local camera club a year later & started improving with feedback from a critique group.

Major frustrations are lighting & printing. Reading is slow, so plan to take courses to fix this issue. “Show me” usually works best for me.

Ultimate goal – produce that one masterpiece. Then I’ll go about making a second one.

In the meantime, I’ve taken up this 365 Challenge – take a picture a day and post it. A personal challenge inspired by a couple of folks at my camera club, it’s designed to get me out and shooting.

  1. Paul Dickie…this is a ghost from your distant past. I’m so, so, so glad you stuck with your photography. Your work is wonderful. You have an artist’s eye and I couldn’t be happier for you. I’m following your 365 Challenge and wish you the best in finding your “masterpiece”. Bravo!

  2. It looks like you’re on a similar quest to me. Good luck with it. It has certainly inspired me to take more photos which is one reason I decided to do it.
Thanks also for dropping by and following my blog. Much appreciated

  3. I commend your dedication! I really don’t know how anyone finds the time to post daily …. all the best with it πŸ™‚
Thanks for following my blog. I hope you continue to like what you see and (if you have time!) please feel free to comment as all feedback and opinions are much appreciated.

    • Thanks for your comments Noeline. It has been a challenge to keep up the daily shooting, but the intended goal – get out and get it done – seems to have worked. I look forward to the change of pace in a few weeks’ time when this phase ends.
