Tackle

Brockville was visited by the tall ships over the weekend.
Difficult to get a good shot as they were all docked for tourist visits.
This detail shows some of the tackle used to tie off the rigging.

Driftwood

This driftwood looks like a dinosaur or dragon when viewed from the right angle. Maybe the late night Friday shenanigans help this impression.  Had a bit of trouble replicating what I saw in the cold light of day.

Brittania beach

Brittania beach at noon – usually the worst time of day for shooting. I liked the play of shadows on the rocks. Reminds me of my innocent childhood (well, …).

Dr. Pete Dang

The Community Organization AGM was last night.

Dr. Pete Dang, Project Director of the Bio Diversity Conservancy spoke about the project to restore the sand dunes in Pinhey forest (right near me).

The dunes, desert like, see day time highs of up to 70 degrees F at surface level and are home to some unique life forms. In the past 60 years or so, the dunes shrank from about 70 hectares to today’s 3 or 4.

Goose

Stopped in at the Aylmer Marina (like this is the only place you see these guys). Anyway – a pleasant, sunny day for fishing – or grubbing for water plants.

Seems I’ve let things slip. Got the shots – lazy about processing. Got a note from Diane today that she was going to be looking in here – which got me kick started again. Andre did say there would be humps to get over & this is about that time. Oh well – back to work.
