Maman

A beautiful warm, sunny September day. No clouds, not a hint of rain.
Mamman, the spider outside the National Gallery, has an egg sack hanging under her belly. A close up from beneath reveals a sinister Spiderman image.
Gotta love art that keeps you looking.

Friday the 13th. Stayed home & avoided the devil. Practicing product shots. This is what happens to nail polish after several years.

Smoke

No self respecting set of images is complete without a puff of smoke.
Snooted flash, high beam flashlight, silver reflector, ISO 6400, f8, 1/250.
4 incense sticks stuck in a potato for stability, shoot until the rain forced me inside.
Add a bit of luck & the stew is done.

As a reward for sticking it out in the federal public service for 30 years, one gets to choose their own gift. As retirement loomed near, I decided against a watch & opted for something more practical.

Hot, sunny day. Stopped at Britannia Beach to wet my feet.
Interesting how the tiniest things can leap into prominence in the right setting.
