An early morning cruise along the Ottawa River on the Gatineau side. The Rideau Falls, emptying into the Ottawa River, mark the end of the Rideau canal system at the Ottawa end. A hike into a park area and tripod mounted long lens got me close to the water. Good ol’ cattails included.
The falls are divided by Green Island (not seen here). The falls were named by the early French for their resemblance to a curtain (rideau en Français). This is one curtain of the falls. The Rideau River was later named after the falls.
